The Douglas County Museum of History and Art is proud to announce The First Annual Christmas Show House, slated for December 4-20, 2015 with the theme “White Christmas” to be carried out by talented decorators and designers. The 1923 bungalow located in Historic Douglasville will be adorned with antiques, art and fabulous accessories, all available for purchase. In addition, local artisans will offer their wares in a gift shop and gallery inside the house. Live greenery including garland and wreaths will not only decorate the house, but will also be available for purchase.
The house will be open for tours daily from 10am until 5pm with expanded hours of 10am until 8 pm on Fridays. Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased beginning November 3 from the Douglas County Museum of History and Art, the sponsor of the event. No tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
Also available during the dates of the Christmas Show House will be “Lunch at the Museum” with seating at 11am and 1pm. The festively packaged lunches will be $15 each and can be enjoyed at the Douglas County Museum of History and Art in a holiday setting or taken to-go. Lunches will require 48-hour advance payment in person at the Museum or by phone via credit card.
In addition to the Show House and the Lunches, the Douglas County Museum of History and Art, will be open for tours daily, December 4-20, 2015 featuring a Toy Exhibit in the Gallery. This exhibit will include antique toys and dolls as well as dioramas and other special collections. Admission to the Museum and the Gallery is always free, although donations are greatly appreciated.
