38th Annual Moonlight Run this weekend

38th Annual Moonlight Run The 38th Annual Moonlight Run will take place this Saturday, October 21, 2017. The 5K race is now a part of the USATF Georgia Distance Grand Prix Series.

The run is the one of the largest after-dark runs in the Southeast, with approximately 2,000 participants running through downtown Douglasville.

The race features a chip-timed USATF certified 5K course and is part of the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series.  Your finish time for the 5K event can be used as a qualifying time for seeding in the Peachtree Road Race.

The events are a family affair where anyone can participate. A Doggie Fun Run starts at 7:00pm. The Tot Trot for ages 5 and under begins at 7:30pm. A one mile race for school age children begins at 8:00pm. The 5K race starts at 8:30pm PM.

For your safety and the safety of others, strollers, roller blades, skateboards, animals and headphones are not  allowed on the course. Participants with these devices or pets will be disqualified and removed from the course.

Registration fees are: Doggie Fun Run $30, 5K – $35, Youth 1-Mile – $20, Tot Trot $15

There are a number of awards prizes given to top finishers for several of the races.

A health fair will be held at the Douglasville Conference Center in conjunction with the race from 4pm until 8pm on Saturday, October 21.  The fair will feature booths with local health-related organizations.
