MLK Day of Community Service – Douglas County Senior Center Renovations

You are invited to attend:
MLK Day of Community Service – Douglas County Senior Center Renovations

Monday, January 18, 2016 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Douglas County’s “A Day On, Not a Day Off” Community Day of Service means manifesting the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., into action by serving our local community and giving back instead of using that day as one of rest. Our goal for 2016 is to complete several renovation projects to the Douglas County Senior Center, 6287 Fairburn Road, Douglasville 30134.

We need cleaning supplies, paint, landscaping materials, signage, new workout equipment, and people! We need your donations to purchase these supplies, but we also need you to paint, to clean up, to install the equipment, and more! Organizations and businesses are invited to “adopt” a room in the Senior Center and re-do the whole thing from bottom to top!

Contributions are to Douglas CORE (Community Organizing Resources for Excellence) so your financial contributions are tax-deductible to the extent of your qualification. Make your donation before the end of 2015 and claim it on your 2016 tax return!

Cash and check contributions may be mailed to Douglas CORE, 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, GA 30134. Credit card contributions can be made through this site. All are very much appreciated! Click on “Tickets” to make a credit card donation. All credit card fees are absorbed.

If you want to volunteer, or if you can pull together a team to volunteer on MLK Day, just let us know and we will work together to make this Day of Service a huge success! Please contact County District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell, III, at 770.920.7266 or to sign up! Thank you!
