Mercer University-Douglasville Regional Academic Center will host Atlanta based children’s museum JJ’s Playhouse for an Engineers R’ US event on Saturday, February 27th, in Lithia Springs from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. This event will close out the celebration of Engineers Week 2016 with nine fields of engineering represented. These fields will provide hands on activities in separate rooms at the Academic Center and each interactive experience will be led by volunteer engineers from around the city.
This exciting awareness event will be an interactive afternoon where children will learn about various fields of engineering and celebrate the profession. Children will explore how engineers make a difference in our world and bring engineering to life for kids, parents, and educators.
JJ’s Playhouse has developed several awareness events like this to give families and educators an opportunity to experience hands on programming which will be later displayed in their children’s museum and gym building. These events also allow children and parents to move beyond the classroom and experience the joy of learning while playing.
