Family Bridge: A Community Visitation and Family Services Center
Information and Orientation Meeting on June 27, 2013!
Dear Prospective Volunteer:
The Family Bridge Visitation Center is looking for volunteers! Lending a hand not only fosters community well-being, but is sure to be a rewarding experience. We are seeking volunteer visitation monitors, escorts, and greeters.
Family Bridge offers children and families involved with the juvenile court deprivation proceedings options for safe and successful visitations in a homelike setting.
We need volunteers to support families at our new family friendly visitation center in Lithia Springs, GA. Our center offers safe and inviting rooms for supervised visitations to take place. Children that are in the foster care system in Douglas County can meet with their biological siblings, relatives and parents in a home-like setting. The comfortable and neutral environment Family Bridge provides can be a catalyst for the successful reunification of these families.
The primary goal of the visitation center program is to offer supervised family visitation for children in foster care to promote the familial/parent-child bond and support reunification.
Family Bridge Visitation Center is a community and volunteer based program; ordinary citizens who have a passion for helping children in foster care can volunteer their time and resources to ensure that children have a safe place to visit with their family members.
We are seeking a variety of individuals – we’re looking for adults of all ages, professions, and interests. We can find volunteer placements that will suit your skills and fit into your busy schedule.
We are excited to announce an orientation for prospective visitation center volunteers!
An information and orientation meeting is planned from 6:30 pm-7:45 pm on June 27, 2013 at Cornerstone Baptist Church located at 7167 South Sweetwater Road Lithia Springs, GA 30122.
The Honorable Judge Peggy Walker, Douglas County Juvenile Court, will be speaking with the group about an overview of the Family Bridge supervised visitation program. During this meeting you will have the opportunity to learn more about Family Bridge and the roles of the visitation volunteer escort, greeter, and monitor. In addition, information will be provided about the application and screening process, and required training.
If you could let us know if you will be able to attend, this will help us prepare for orientation.
Please RSVP to email@example.com to confirm your attendance.
If you know of someone who would make a great visitation center volunteer, please direct them to Family Bridge: Community Visitation and Services Center of Douglas County.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this volunteer opportunity. Your future help will be greatly appreciated, and, like many current volunteers, you will find the volunteer experience to be a rewarding one.
Please free to contact us at 770·941·2923 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org if we can be of further assistance.
We look forward to meeting you on June 27th!
