Carroll County Community Theatre presents “White Christmas”

Carroll County Community Theatre presents Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” on December 6-8 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 9 at 2 pm at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center’s Danny Mabry Theatre, 251 Alabama St, Carrollton, GA 30117. Actors have been rehearsing for months under the direction of Laurence Smith with music direction by Kathy Waldrop, and choreography provided by Erin Poulson. White Christmas is appropriate for the whole family and a great way to kick off the Christmas season. Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs.

Young army veterans Bob Wallace (Jake Shadrix) and Phil Davis (Matthew Dixon) have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters (Melissa Stamps and Ginna Blair) en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander, General Waverly (played by Joey Huckeba). The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas. Along with a stellar cast of local musical theatre actors, some dance numbers will be enhanced by talented young ladies from Fever Performing Arts. Tickets are $10 for all ages. Call 770-838-1083 for tickets and information.
