Railroad and Ghost Town open for season

Rocky Branch Railroad & Ghost Town is located at 106 Center Point Rd. in Bremen (about halfway between Temple and Bremen off Hwy. 78). Owned & operated by Lisa Morrison of Kennesaw it features a 24” gauge Huntington Train ride. The narrow gauge train winds along a 1/2-mile track through Rocky Branch’s Dead Woods Territory, and chugs by an old saw mill and also a cemetery. Also on the route is the Hillbilly Brewing Co. and Big John’s Blacksmith shop.  You better beware and hang on to your valuables – just in case yer bushwhacked by bandits!

Part live-action theatre, part historic recreation, the western frontier town of Rocky Branch captures the thrill of the old west. Here you will get up close and personal with western characters as they shoot out their differences! Kids and grown-ups alike will also enjoy the Rocky Branch Express — a train ride through Rocky Branch’s Deadwoods territory.

Since its inception, Rocky Branch has gained the attention of local residents, businesses, and media. With its unique old-west ambiance and accessibility to metro Atlanta, Rocky Branch has also gained the attention of movie production companies as a set location.

Rocky Branch has a beautiful camping area with a cost of $10.00 per site per night. This area also includes animal enclosures for an alligator exhibit, petting zoo and farm birds. The amenities make it a popular destination for school groups and scouts.

Among the annual events at Rocky Branch is “Ghost Town” a haunted attraction named a top 20 event in Georgia for October 2011. And new this year will be “Christmas at Rocky Branch” for which the train will be lit up. Santa has scheduled a visit for this event.

Rocky Branch is planning to expand its frontier town with more buildings and shops as tourism grows. Rocky Branch Railroad is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Rocky Branch Gunfighters perform on Saturdays throughout the day and the price for admission is $8.95 a person.
