Schoolโs Out!
By Mac Palmer
This was a good year. I was very surprised at how fast it went. It seems like it was just a few weeks ago I was scared of middle school, and now my first year is over.
Iโll miss all my 6th grade teachers who helped me a lot with things I thought I would never do. I will also miss all the fun times I had this year like going to Charlotte Motor Speedway with just kids and teachers, but no parents. Also, I am still proud I got all A+ grades this year. Getting Junior Beta Club was a big surprise, but a good one.
I also will miss one of my teachers having to be tough with a bad student in my class. I think she knew that he was hurting everyone with his behavior.
This year was also a busy one too. It was filled with lots of work and other crazy things that sometimes made it a wreck. But all the good times were worth the struggle times. Some struggles were math because itโs hard for me, some not so good students, and other things but they were flushed out by kind students and nice teachers who helped me so much and I canโt thank them enough.
For example, going into chorus this year I was afraid that I couldn’t do much, but turns out I did so many good things I thought I would never do, and we even did a musical that’s usually for high school, not middle school. I really liked going to a hockey game in chorus to sing the National Anthem in front of tons of people.
I will not forget all the new friends I made this year and the surprise of it all heading into 7th grade. I want to thank all my teachers for their help, and I really wish they would all move to 7th grade! And, as my musical director says, โSo with the understudy?โ Have a great summer!
