Graphite drawing demonstration set for Tuesday

LiamatDawn08092012Artist in Residence, Bill Leavell will demonstrate graphite drawing in the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center front lobby on Tuesday, July 9 from 10 am-5 pm. Visitors are welcome to come any time during the day to watch (please be aware that we will schedule 10 minute breaks for the artist at the end of each hour and from noon to 12:30 pm.) A member of Smart Inc., (Stone Mountain Arts Incubator) program, Bill E. Leavell, the former Executive Director of DeKalb’s Porter Sanford III Performing Arts Center is operating his own studio and gallery in the village of Stone Mountain. Children ages 7 and up are invited to try their hand at graphite drawing under Mr. Leavell’s instruction. All materials will be provided. Just bring a picnic blanket to sit on. Instruction will begin anew at the top of each hour. Large groups may call for a scheduled time. This is a free event and is made possible by the Alice H. Richards Foundation, a component grant of the Community Foundation of West Georgia, Inc.
