CAST One Act Festival at Little Vine Vineyards

CAST One Act Festival at Little Vine Vineyards

Following a successful run of six sold out performances of “Murder Ahoy”, the Community Alliance for Stage and Theater (CAST) will stage a one-act play festival at Little Vine Vineyards on June 3 and June 10. This will be CAST’s first appearance at Little Vine Vineyards, but hopefully not the last. The vineyard is a beautiful venue, located at 665 N. Hulett Road, Villa Rica, with ample performance space and offers a wide selection of award winning wines, made right there on the property.

The festival will offer three one act plays and feature long-time CAST performers and directors as well as newcomers. The modern day “While You Were Sleeping” will be directed by CAST Vice President Alan White and will feature CAST newcomers Brandon Ybarbo and Corissa Gaulin as well as regulars Dawn Marchione and Carolyn Clark. First time director and CAST Secretary Carol White will present “28 Down, 8 Letters” starring regulars Cyndi Crawford and Alan White. The comedy “A Pair of Lunatics”, written in 1889, will be directed by Cast President Carolyn Clark and will feature CAST regulars Leslie Goldsmith and Donald Henderson.

Tickets for the festival are only $5 and can be purchased soon on the CAST website or can be purchased at the door.

The fun doesn’t stop after the one-act festival but will continue with two full length dinner theater productions later this year. “Contempt of Court”, a rollicking court room comedy with lots of chances for audience members to be part of the show, will open on Saturday, July 15 at the Olive Tree Restaurant in Hiram. There will also be shows on July 22, 23, 29 and 30 at the Olive Tree in Villa Rica and a final performance on August 5 back at the Olive Tree in Hiram. Tickets are $36 (plus tax) and include dinner, drinks (non-alcohol) dessert, tip and the show and will be available soon on the www.castplays.com website. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the restaurants.

Coming in late October will be the comedy spoof musical “The Altos” – like the Sopranos, only lower! Come to this show and be a guest at the funeral of mob boss Tony Alto and meet his wife Toffee and his mom and Uncle Senior.
