Aimee Copeland Benefit scheduled

A benefit motorcycle ride and concert will take place at the Mill Amphitheater in Villa Rica on Saturday, September 22.

Aimee is the young lady who made the national news several months ago as she battled a flesh eating bacteria contracted by injuries sustained from a fall off of a zip line. What began as a beautiful time in nature with friends turned tragic when Aimee encountered an equipment malfunction while playing on a homemade zip line.  Her fall set the stage for the development of necrotizing fasciitis which led to amputations and the failure of her five major organs.

Bikers arrive at 8am and the events opens to the public at 11am. Thousands of spectators are expected at this full-day event. The motorcycle ride begins at 10am, and the fun starts upon the bikers’ return at 12:30pm.

You are encouraged to visit downtown restaurants – all within walking distance of THE MILL amphitheater.

Expect BMX exhibitions, pool tournaments, a kids’ corner, all sorts of food and other vendors, shopping at downtown boutiques and antique stores and live music from 3pm – 10pm. Love the Beatles? You won’t want to miss the headliner band “The Return” – a Beatle’s tribute band playing from 8pm – 10pm. Meet Aimee from 4pm to 8 pm.

The Mill is looking for  band and sound and lighting sponsors for this event. Bands will give reduced rate or free performances; however, costs still total $5,600. Contact Kimberly Stovall @ kstovall@villarica.org.

They are also looking for donated items for a raffle.  All donated items for auction/raffle will help with Aimee’s medical expenses and the cost of her recovery.  Contact Ronnie Capes at 404-569-2169.

If you would like to be a vendor, contact  Kimberly Stovall at the Main Street Office @ THE MILL | 106 Temple Street | Villa Rica, GA 30180 between the hours of 9am – 5:30pm Monday – Friday. Your entry will be considered. Contact Kimberly Stovall @ kstovall@villarica.org.
